Trust and Estate Senior Tax Associate
The candidate will will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise/mentor staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients. Prepare and review complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns, including related schedules and forms. Prepare and review of fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts. Provide tax planning and consulting to the firm’s high net worth client for estate and individual income taxes. Research and consult on various estate, gift, and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, Crummey obligations, and generation skipping tax issues. Identify additional estate and income tax planning opportunities for clients. Oversee billing and collections of clients. Manage, coach, and mentor staff. Researching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax matters. Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities. Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries. Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines. Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly. Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader. Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA license, JD or a Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred. Should have 3+ years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff, and an emphasis on Gift, Estate, and Trust knowledge.
