Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a workers' compensation attorney with 6 months to 3 years of experience as an attorney within workers' compensation law or personal injury law. The candidate will report to the supervising attorney. Manage a caseload as well as client interaction and collaborate with a workers' compensation team of attorneys and legal assistants. Manage workers' compensation claims from inception to final resolution, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. Represent the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings. Support clients by providing them with legal advice to determine whether to go to court. Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel in order to achieve maximum settlement. Ensure clients receive funds as a result of a judgment or settlement. Take depositions of witnesses, request medical records, and write petitions, motions, and responses to insurance companies. Draft, file, and argue appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients. Research, develop, and implement workers' compensation law-related compliance procedures and best practices. Remain current with developments in the workers' compensation area of law. Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel with professional diplomacy and discretion. Public speaking and supervisory experience are highly preferred. Experience with case management software is required. Must be an active member of the CA State Bar and the local Bar Associations. Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly preferred.
