ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Product development

  • Works closely with the SVP of R&D and team in the development of new products for key accounts in food service, airlines, club stores, and retail bakeries.
  • Develop multiple dessert prototypes that deliver on written Request for Product concepts including, design, cost, and specifications.
  • Assist in the commercialization of new products through open channels of communication and collaboration with the operations team.
  • Act as liaison between R&D and the QA team.  Documenting and providing quality control guidelines for new product specifications.
  • Assist in selecting new vendors for raw materials, equipment and packaging. Maintaining a relationship for continued innovation and avenues for new business opportunities.
  • Support all members in training, test runs, and ramp ups of all new products.

Supporting Sales and Marketing

  • Coordinate and execute product presentations and industry trade shows.
  • Research feasibility of new product concepts  focusing on trends and the Company’s  brand.
  • Ensure that product quality standards are consistent and act as liaison between new customers and existing customers.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams on product innovation, product descriptions, and customer samples.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all team members remaining flexible in assisting on multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism consistent with Company core values.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years minimum working in dessert manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation with minimal supervision. 
  • Must have good knowledge of ingredient functionality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to use existing resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ability to identify problems and create new innovative solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of cheesecake preferred.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation Certified is a plus.
  • Communicate with poise, polish, and professionalism.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pastry Arts/Food Science or related degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Genesis SQL, outlook, excel, word, and social media platforms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts as well as moving racks, and slippery floors. The employee is frequently exposed to cold and hot weather conditions.
