Director of Single Event
The candidate will serve as a staff resource through interpretation and application of regulations, case law, state and federal laws as well as review of complex health plan contracts. Provide game plan training to Single Event team members on complex liens to include health plan governing document analysis, crafting of reduction arguments, and development of verbal negotiation skills. Serve as the escalation point for Single Event team members for assistance in complex lien negotiations. Assign new matters to Single Event team members based on current caseload and team member expertise. Monitor and review emerging case law and promptly disseminate relevant data to staff. Provide regular, accurate reporting to ARCHER management on the Single Event docket as a whole. Set billing rules in ARCHER's database and request case-specific invoices as needed. Onboard new clients and participate in initial Intake calls. Maintain complex lien docket through continual review of each client file. Maintain positive relationships with client firms through responsiveness and proactive communication. Conduct weekly assessment of billable products and communicate to Accounts Receivable which products are cleared for invoicing. Collaborate with Sales Team on initial analysis of potential complex cases prior to intake. Evaluate client satisfaction through regular follow-up and timely handling of escalated matters. Serve as the internal point of contact for our various processing departments, relaying time-sensitive information to Single Event team members as well as clients. Billing reconciliation of monthly closed products to ensure accurate invoicing. Bi-weekly meetings with team members to assess performance, provide training. Develop and implement processes and training for new employees. Degree from a 4-year accredited college. Must have 3+ years of procedural and substantive law, as well as Federal and State rules, 3+ years' experience in subrogation or personal injury law, 3+ years' experience with case management software, and billing databases, 3+ years' experience managing people and teams of up to 4-6 people. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. The individual should be able to do V-lookup, pivot tables, macros, and email organization. Application of analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues such as auditing claims data, interpreting case law, and understanding injury details related to case summary. Advanced legal research using systems like Westlaw, and/or LexisNexis, 3+ experience with understanding healthcare claims processing, billing, and ICD codes. JD (law) Degree strongly preferred but not required. Should preferably have Texas State Bar, Paralegal Studies, PMP (Project Management) Certification, Legal Research and Writing. Displays strong advocacy skills and negotiation tactics. High degree of organization and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Strong judgment and decisiveness during verbal negotiations. Independent prioritization of workload. Strategic thinker who is flexible and open to change/fluidity. Ability to teach, mentor, motivate and inspire team members of varying skills and abilities. Effectively delegates projects and tasks to direct reports. Demonstrates active listening, empathy, flexibility, patience, and team-building abilities. Track record of leading through effective feedback.
