Network Engineer
The candidate will manage and maintain network hardware and software. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of various network components. Monitor and analyze network for resiliency and performance. Understand of firm and industry best practices and business requirements to gather data for analysis by conducting interview and independent research. Act as technical project manager and responsible for project related communications to stakeholders. Fully resolve problems with firm systems and technologies. Including root cause analysis in a 24/7/365 environment. Participate in making decisions and determining actions independently and expediently to eliminate risks and ensure the continuity of business. Participate in DR and network security solution development. Actively pursuing new technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of firm systems. Act to support all technical projects arising from the project Management office (PMO). Determine and decide when to escalate problems to vendors and ensuring resolution and reporting of resolution to stakeholders. Maintain documentation of network, processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and change management logs. Participate in an on-call schedule rotation. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Should have 7+ years of experience. Experience managing converged enterprise networks in a large, global multi-office environment is required. Working knowledge of VPNs and enterprise gateway devices is preferred. Wide Area Network transports including MPLS is required. Experience ensureing compliance to security standards and policy is needed. Enterprise class routing protocols BGP, OSPF is needed. Enterprise LAN technologies like VLAN, Etherchannel, Spanning-Tree is a plus. Converged Networks carrying voice, video and data is preferred. Traffic prioritization, including Class of Service and QoS is a plus. Knowledgeable of Cisco Communication Manager (CUCM), messaging, presence and conferencing solution is required. Knowledgeable of Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), Cisco Unity Messaging, and Cisco Call Manage Express (CME) is needed. Knowledge of Cisco router, switching and wireless hardware technologies is a plus. Knowledge of WAN/LAN traffic requirements for a MS windows/Citrix based applications environment is preferred. SDWAN optimization / traffic shaping technologies is preferred. Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP LDAP, KERBEROUS, RADIUS and FTP is required. Function Specific Systems Knowledge in WAN transports & Services (MPLS, PTP, SONET, Internet – Multicarrier & Redundancy), Routing & Switching (Cisco), Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Firewalls (Cisco, Palo), Wireless (Cisco, Aruba, Aerohive), SDWAN Optimization (Citrix, SilverPeak), Network / Application tools (Compuware, Sniffer, WireShark), General Network (IP schema, Video, Cabling, DHCP), Network Management and Monitoring tools (Solarwinds, LogicMonitor, LiveAction), Network and Application Load balancers (F5, Citrix Netscalers) and Video Conferencing Systems (Cisco, Polycom) is required. Cisco Certifications is a plus.
