We're seeking an IT Interface Specialist for a FTE opportunity located in Chicago, IL.General Summary of Position Responsibility: Under the direction of the Director, Enterprise IT, the IT Interface Specialist installs, implements, maintains and supports interface software and application processes for the enterprise. This position provides ongoing interface design and technical services to users, administers interface system operational processes, and prepares and maintains documentation related to interface solutions. This position requires the individual to have an understanding of all relevant interface technologies used at this organization and to assume responsibility for the successful completion of complex project tasks. The IT Interface Specialist is also required to perform well with minimal supervision and to perform technical and project mentoring and development of other junior Interface Analysts. Essential Job Functions:Area Specific Job Accountabilities: Develops and manages interfaces for clinical and business applications, including but not limited, to Epic, Lawson, and Nuance Transcription. Works with application staff and users interface design and development.
Performs quality reviews on all interface processes and technologies.
Mentors and develops the technical and project skill sets of junior Interface staff as assigned.
Participate in Electronic Medical Record, EMR, project tasks related to interface services as required, meeting all project deadlines and deliverables.
Works with application team on integration testing.
Installs and manages interface engine software for Epic Bridges, Connexall and/or CorePoint technologies. Tasks include but are not limited to: Creation and maintenance of interfaces for downstream applications. Creation and maintenance of extracts for downstream applications and ad-hoc user requests. Works with system administrator on the installation and maintenance of the CorePoint, Connexall and Epic system components related to interfaces. Automation of interface process around starting, stopping, and restart of interface process. Create reports and automate error detection and alert processes that will be utilized in the on-going operation of the interface systems. Perform daily monitoring of interface error status and perform corrective actions. Replay and recreate transactions as required.
Develops and documents procedures covering all aspects of enterprise-wide interface administration.
Acts as a backup resource to other CorePoint/Bridge staff as assigned.
Assumes on-call responsibility for interface/ETL operations.
Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or a directly related field or equivalent work experience is required. Master level skills in relevant interface technologies; CorePoint, and Epic Bridges product are in current use at this organization.
Three (3) plus years of experience working with CorePoint and/or Epic Bridges products in a complex healthcare enterprise applications environment.
Programming or scripting skills necessary to assist in interface server and management tasks. This would include Unix shell scripting, C , or other required interface scripting skill in Sybase or Bridges.
Experience with SQL, Epic Chronicles and other database technologies.
Familiarity with clinical applications and processes is desired.
Familiarity or experience with medical device integration, preferably Phillips is desired.
Certification/Licensure/Registration: Certification in Epic technologies related to interface support is highly desired.
Experience in information systems within a health care provider organization is desired.
Analytical thinking for effective problem determination and the ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, while providing timely and responsive services are the keys to this position.
Excellent time and project management skills, customer service and interpersonal skills, system diagnostic and communication (written and oral) are critical for success in this position.
