Responsible for providing exemplary customer service by processing group long term disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages, plans, organizes, and controls team of claims professionals to ensure effective, efficient, profitable operation.

Accountable for the creation of the infrastructure, workflow, and culture that fosters data accuracy and documentation, leverages information to provide future vision, responsible for financial accuracy.

Manages team of claim specialists responsible for all inquiries, provides technical expertise to investigate and settle claims not resolvable by direct reports.

Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing assigned claim and clinical teams, through unit leaders and associates.

Builds and manages effective partnerships with internal and external customers, fosters an environment that supports effective teamwork and cross-functional cooperation.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

High school diploma

5 years of LTD and/or STD experience

2 years of people management experience

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Customer service and relationship management skills.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree

10 years of LTD and/or STD experience

4 years of people management experience

Expert knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws

Advanced customer focus and management.

Extensive knowledge of multiple systems and technology resources
