Paralegal I
The candidate will provide a wide range of high-level support for the attorneys within the department; including arranging travel and correspondence, and assisting in preparing department documents. Additionally, assists in the review and administration of contracts, maintaining legal files, preparing routine legal documents, and supporting the corresponding reporting attorneys in a specific area of expertise as well as assisting in managing calendars and scheduling meetings. Under general guidance, independently determine the appropriate approach to complete narrowly defined tasks. Complete a broad variety of tasks including managing extremely active calendars; monitoring, composing, and responding to correspondence; arranging agendas; managing scheduling; calendar meetings. Prepare expense reports. Planning and preparation for events and meetings. Involving but not limited to: menu planning, sourcing supplies and refreshments, preparing conference rooms and meeting spares. Arrange travel and assist with travel documents, passport renewals and visas. Administration of outside counsel and vendors, including administration of retention agreements and onboarding documents and billing. With specific direction, prepare legal documents such as contracts, for review, approval, and use by reporting attorneys. With oversight from a department attorney, prepare reports, business correspondence, department presentations, training materials, and procedure manuals. Respond effectively and efficiently to questions from contacts both inside and outside the department, including from managers, clients, and customers. Maintain correspondence and legal documents in the office filing system. Administration of department filling, and maintenance of supplies and vendor services. Resolve problems in a practical and efficient manner, often where little guidance or prior examples are available. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Paralegal certificate. 1-5 years of paralegal experience in a corporate law department or legal firm. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience coupled with a thorough understanding of the Snap-on business. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Writes clearly and informatively with ability to vary writing style to meet situational or recipient needs. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. Ability to collaborate with other members of the legal department as well as business partners in outside business units, and outside counsel.
