Role Summary:
The Design Director leads, manages and directs the creative brand design team and is positioned as a core creative leader driving consistency of the brand and design excellence at all touchpoints, internally and externally, on behalf of Best Buy. Within this role the Design Director has responsibility to ensure touchpoints across all channels -including photography- are consistent with established brand standards and look, feel, and photography are consistent with brand look and feel. This leader will ensure expectations are met with teams, leadership and enterprise partners. Oversight responsibilities include ensuring the teams are creating and building to a consistent brand message delivered across multiple channels and campaigns, with a special focus on digital channels as Best Buy continues its rapid transformation into a “digital first” brand.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Creative Leadership Inspires and motivates the design creative team -sweating the details and paying attention to craft- making the work better in ways small and large•Champions enterprise-wide message consistency
Ensures brand identity and brand frameworks are reflected across external customer touch points
Creates and ensures delivery of consistently branded design assets that support the strategic goals and brand of Best Buy
Overall management of brand assets and associated creative outputs
Understands, interprets, coaches and recommends creative execution specifics to ensure creative consistency
Works with collaboration at the core from marketing to digital teams - to align, collaborate, distribute and amplify brand opportunities across channels and vehicles
Consistently strives for and provides optimal brand results
Manages designers, art directors and studio to ensure a consistent photographic approach
Leads concept creation for multiple campaigns, which may include in-store communications, social content, packaging, signage and more
Operates in an inspirational capacity to mentor, motivate, direct, assess and proactively manage team dynamics
Experience:
6 years of experience in a creative leadership role
10 years of experience in a designer or design related role
