It is a challenge that demands the skills of a financial service professional and the intelligence of an academic—all combined with a passion for public service.What we do:The International Affairs & Strategy function in the Executive Office is responsible for strategically strengthening the Bank’s international relationships to generate insights about the global economic and financial environment, enable collaboration on issues of mutual interest, and facilitate the execution of the Bank’s international responsibilities. The Country Risk Department in the International Affairs and Strategy function is responsible for:Providing a country risk framework and analysis on country developments and regional trends in support of the Bank’s international operational and policy activities and external engagementDeveloping and managing working relationships with global central banks and governments, US government entities and private sector institutionsEnsuring that insights from international engagements are effectively disseminated within the BankFacilitating standing and ad-hoc cross-Bank teams to promote information sharing and analytical collaboration on international work Your role as Country Risk Research Analyst: Supporting the Country Risk Department, you will manage and develop data platforms to support country risk analysis and external engagement, monitor and curate news flow on relevant global developments and research, and provide analytical support to research and engagement activities including:Develop and maintain current databases on global macroeconomic, financial sector, market and political indicators, and manage department data feeds and vendorsAssist department staff in monitoring and analyzing fundamentals, evolving developments and news flow at the country and regional levelContribute to country risk analysis on country and regional developmentsProvide analytical and external engagement support for international policy and operational business linesDevelop and maintain working relationships with US government agencies, foreign central banks and public sector entities and international financial institutionsPrepare complex tables and charts in support of department analysis, reporting, and presentationsDevelop and maintain information sharing platforms like Sharepoint sites and the internal website','!*!What we are looking for:Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related field, with significant course work in finance or international financeApproximately two years of full time work – preferably in a role analyzing and interpreting financial data and presenting information in a clear and concise mannerCandidates must be able obtain U.S. Security Clearance which includes verification of U.S. CitizenshipInterest in and knowledge of international economic or financial issues as evidenced by academics, work experience or research workAdvanced proficiency in Excel including knowledge of complex formulas and ability to digest spreadsheets and workbooksWork experience using Bloomberg, Haver, and large databasesExperience providing effective verbal and written analysisFamiliarity with quantitative analysis and economic/financial research is highly desirableExperience using Tableau and Sharepoint is preferredAbility to work with Bank senior management and staff and external contactsAbility to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet strict deadlinesExperience with team projects where collaboration is essential for successOur Benefits:Our organization offers benefits that are the best fit for you at every stage of your career: Fully paid Pension plan and 401k with Generous MatchComprehensive Insurance Plans (Medical, Dental and Vision including Flexible Spending Accounts and HSA)Subsidized Public Transportation ProgramTuition Assistance ProgramOnsite Fitness & Wellness CenterFlexible Work ArrangementsAnd more which you can find hereThe Federal Reserve Bank of New York is committed to a diverse workforce and to providing equal employment opportunity to all persons without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, genetic information, disability, or military service.  This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, performance standards or requirements, efforts, skills or working conditions associated with the job.
