Job Description:
Full-time, ten-month grant-funded position to provide technical services and assist faculty, staff, and students related to the online learning environment, HyFlex classroom technology and training. Position starts August 1, 2023 and runs through May 31, 2024. Continuation of position is contingent upon continued grant funding
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs, configures, and repairs/maintains classroom technologies and related equipment (e.g., projectors, interactive boards/monitors, web cameras, projection screens, microphones, speakers, etc.) in accordance with college standards and in collaboration with the Coordinator, Multimedia Development and Support.
Provides training for faculty and staff on the use of classroom technologies and demonstrates the operation of such equipment.
Works closely with the Coordinator, Multimedia Development and Support in developing recommendations for the purchase and installation/implementation of instructional technology equipment and resources.
Responsible for providing support, training and technical assistance to users of classroom technologies.
Administers setup of special classroom technology needs and follows up with faculty/staff to address their needs.
Assesses damage to, or loss of equipment, keeping the Coordinator, Multimedia Development and Support informed of same.
Updates and maintains equipment inventory.
Maintains current working knowledge of related technology and creative processes to ensure continuous quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on equipment and systems.
Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Educational:
High school diploma/GED plus technical school training required. Courses in educational and instructional media preferred.
Experiential:
Experience installing, repairing, and using a variety of classroom technologies required. Experience working with audio-visual, studio, and other multimedia equipment required.
Other:
Must have ability to work with a variety of classroom technologies and audio/video production equipment. Position involves moderately heavy manual work, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and supplies. Lifting approximately 50 lbs is expected as well as ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders.
