Senior Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance
Duties: Delivers GRC, GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act, information governance, records management and other related services to global and U.S. clients. Collaborates closely with BDO Member Firms to ensure that clients receive timely, accurate and in-country support, as needed. Develops standardized metrics, methodologies and other work product to be delivered to client project teams. Supports client interviews, including the development of pre-meeting materials, background research and mentors other team members on the client’s environment. Ensures clients receive timely, actionable and thoughtful responses to questions, data subject requests or supervisory authority inquiries. Develops data inventories, data flow diagrams, data maps and processing registers in support of client projects. Interacts with BDO team members in the US and within global member firms to ensure client needs are met. Builds relationships with other BDO professionals, cross-sells into different industries and participates in BDO and industry events where subject matter expertise is requested. Ensures clients are provided quality services from all levels of the team. Reviews client executive reports, and provides feedback to team members. Assists with proposals, RFIs and RFPs. Utilizes knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans, establish reporting and metrics and provide client with regular updates. Institutes BDO methodologies, and ensures consistency on projects, when responsible for managing the project. Manages the day-to-day project requirements, as well as the on-site and/or remote team. Participates in and conducts business unit, legal, IT, privacy and governance interviews and meetings, as needed. Proofreads and edits executive reports, prior to presenting to prospects and existing clients. Manages BDO client and Partner expectations at all levels. Ensure quality of work product is consistent throughout client engagements, and BDO standards are applied for every engagement. Manages multiple large, complex and long-term engagements. Manages client expectations at all levels of the organization, including supporting in-person presentations to senior level executives. Develops and manages project budgets, and ensures that invoices are delivered in a timely manner. Other duties as required. Supervises the workload of GRC Managers, Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements, and reviews work product, as needed. Ensures GRC Managers, Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant software, practice tools and processes. Evaluates the performance of GRC Managers, Senior Associates and Associates, and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development. Delivers periodic performance feedback, and completes performance evaluations for Managers, Senior Associates and Associates in accordance with Firm guidance. Acts as a mentor to GRC Managers, Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriate.
