The candidate will support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation, both administrative and substantive. Assist and drive the factual development and analysis of cases, including coordination with the relevant business teams, gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documents. Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and responding to third party subpoenas. Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and engagement and response letters. Prepare court documents for filing. Maintain a litigation calendar and monitor case dockets. Should have 3-5 years of relevant experience handling litigation matters, experience running state/federal trials a plus. Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability. Litigation law firm and/or automotive insurance company experience required in-house experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, and flexibly, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment. Understanding and comfort with litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitrations, and trials. eDiscovery and Appellate experience a plus. Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibility. Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, technology, and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong work ethic with a goal-oriented focus.
