As the Reliability Growth Manager (RGM), The RGM will be passionate, with a blend of business and technical skills and the experience and savvy to work with Contracts & Procurement, engineers, operations, etc. across different countries, programs and multi-functional teams to help support Shell Hydrogen’s assets worldwide. The RGM will be part of the Hydrogen Product Development team, reporting to the Global Hydrogen Product Manager. The Hydrogen product team has a global remit, partnering globally, deploying globally.

The RGM will be responsible for implementing a nimble and fit for purpose reliability growth program in the Hydrogen business. The RGM will be responsible for working with the Global Hydrogen Product Manager to forecast resourcing and ensure necessary resources are available to support the business, which will include hiring internal/external resources and partnering with 3rd parties to augment as necessary.

The RGM will have significant working relationships and visibility with business development, product development, project delivery, operations and safety functions in Shell Hydrogen. To deliver expected business results, a successful candidate needs to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and their inherent risks to a wide range of stakeholders both internally in Shell and in the wider Hydrogen community.

What’s the role?

The Reliability Growth Manager (RGM) is responsible for improving the reliability of, and reducing cost to operate and maintain Shell Hydrogen assets globally. The RGM will implement capabilities such as FRACAS, corrective action plans, predictive algorithms, asset management systems, and cloud based data platforms to accomplish these goals. The RGM is responsible for acquiring all necessary data from Shell and partner Hydrogen infrastructure worldwide during operation, to develop data products and predictive algorithms which have a direct impact on reducing unplanned downtime and reducing maintenance costs. The RGM will drive change into the supply chain to improve designs of unreliable components based upon the observations and experience gained through the capture and processing of data from the field, in partnership with the Hydrogen operations team. Finally, the RGM will be responsible for setting future availability targets & cost for maintenance contracts based upon observed data.

Accountabilities

Implement reliability processes, products, and capabilities such as:

FRACAS

Corrective action boards

Asset management systems

Cloud based data platforms

AI algorithms for predictive maintenance

Support the Systems Engineering team and Contracts and Procurement to set data-based availability and cost targets

Develop consortiums, as appropriate, to solve specific component reliability problems through test/re-design/R&D/product management

Work with subject matter experts (internal and external) to implement, maintain, and utilize an IT infrastructure that provides near-real time observation and capture of all sensor data on all of Shell’s operated fleet globally.

Support Operations to troubleshoot failures in real time, where root causes are design related, lead an effort to resolve the problem

Work with the global supply chain to feedback known issues, influencing manufacturers and maintenance organizations towards appropriate corrective action in collaboration with Product Management and Operations

Requirements:

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

B.S. or B.Eng degree required in Computer Science, Engineering, or related program.

10 years in an operational engineering environment.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement predictive maintenance methods, including algorithm development (or related experience).

Practical engineering knowledge and experience in reliability growth of mechanical, electrical, and industrial control/software systems.

Implemented or worked with remote data acquisition infrastructure, preferably on a global scale.

Demonstrated ability to run FRACAS, Corrective Action, and asset management processes.

Clear oral and written communication skills to present complex value propositions to internal leaders and external partners.

Demonstrated ability to implement design for safety processes.
