This leader will report to the Director of US Oncology Support Services. The successful candidate is a high - performing individual responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and leading the implementation of strategic initiatives across OCAR to improve both the effectiveness and efficiency of the oncology business across KEYTRUDA and EMEND. Other oncology products to be evaluated based on need.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Identify the long term business and channel strategies for the US Oncology OCAR team at the portfolio level and ensure the development and execution of a robust plan
In conjunction with the brand team, develop tools and resources for the support service teams in OCAR
Stays abreast of latest policy and testing updates and impact to Merck Oncology, competitors; works with the DC office to understand implications and helps develop strategy and tactics for OCAR teams
Coordinates across the brand teams and OCAR
Coordinates communication efforts between multiple field teams to focus on KPIs, Dashboards, Measures
Continues to build resources to support field team’s understanding of KEYTRUDA and EMEND and all indication approvals
Solicits feedback from the field team and executes resources that will enhance customer interactions
Assists with meeting planning and logistics, includes coordination of customer engagements
Ensures surround - sound approach is being effectively utilized
Assists in profit planning and LROP needs
Responsible for reimbursement tactical business plan oversight and execution
Develop standard work and processes to ensure execution excellence across the organization
Ensure that the roles across the scope of the US OCAR surround sound team are defined, optimized and capabilities defined with specific outcomes
Coordinate and facilitate regular business reviews with each team to better understand the needs of the US OCAR support services organization and implement new strategies to drive differentiated value
Lead quarterly advisory board meetings and lead implementation of identified opportunities
Lead quarterly business reviews with HQ staff
Drive process to define the annual objectives for the US OCAR support services teams
Support the three contract organizations in OCAR including: evaluating each contract, driving RFPs, FMVs, developing metrics, tracking and measuring.
Conduct field visits with the three contract organizations to understand needs and gaps as well as coordination with field teams
Education Minimum Requirement:
B.S. / B.A Degree
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication, project management, planning, organization, facilitation, and consultative skills to influence decision - making
Strong judgment, prioritization, and decision - making skills, with understanding of broader context of corporate strategies
Proactive nature and ability to manage change, anticipate risks, and design controls or mitigation
Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, manage, and provide clear expectations and priorities, with or without direct authority, by inspiring and creating a shared vision
Comfort and confidence in working with diverse teams and backgrounds
Requires approximately 10 - 20 % travel, including some weekends
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Oncology experience including understanding of market landscape, buy and bill model, and key decision makers / influencers
Prior people management experience
Variety of work experience in sales, marketing, account management, operations, and / or payer
Extensive design / implementation and past success with Commercial Model structural evolution
