Director of Research Initiatives, Engineering Research Accelerator','2013566','!*!The Accelerator, part of the College of Engineering, provides integrated, coordinated, and college-wide services for research acceleration, incubation, and support. This includes research administration, corporate partnership, funding opportunities, business support, and more. The Accelerator enables continuous assessments of current research activities, while also identifying and encouraging high-potential, cross-cutting, and emerging research directions to maintain the College’s competitive edge. Our College of Engineering’s Research Accelerator is searching for a Director of Research Initiatives. In this role, you will oversee and manage all administrative functions and assigned special projects for the College of Engineering’s Research Accelerator. Core responsibilities include:Overseeing all/assigned internal administrative functions, assigned special projects, and relevant works with central university administrationSupervising the administrative staff of the Research Accelerator, providing effective communications to the Associate Dean for Research and other staffLeading the development of briefing papers for the Associate Dean for Research’s meetings and engagementsHandling communications with corporate contacts and other similar constituencies on behalf of the Associate Dean for ResearchLeading all aspects of events for the Research Accelerator’s officeRecommending and building administrative policies and procedures related to research for the College and ensures that the Research Accelerator’s workflow runs effectively and efficientlyDelegating and following up on staff projects, and assisting and advising the Associate Dean for ResearchQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, technical degree or equivalent required. Master's degree preferred5 or more years of related experience, including supervisory experience required5 years of forward-thinking management and operations experience; organizational and negotiating skills preferredAn understanding of Sponsored Research preferredFlexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Engineering Research Accelerator.
