Legal Human Resources Specialist
The candidate will perform a variety of HR related tasks along with supporting the Legal Human Resources team. Organize the on-boarding for fall associate class and new lawyer hires. Communicate with new hires, coordinating and processing new hire paperwork and orientation schedules, initiating and reviewing background checks, handling bar and moving expenses, processing salary advance loans, holding HR orientation sessions, providing information on firm policies and procedures, fielding questions, coordinating with Attorney Development team and other internal departments on arrivals. Coordinate departure process for all lawyers. Including, but not limited to: communications with departing lawyers, maintaining and processing departure paperwork, coordinating with various internal departments. Point of contact for lawyers to help resolve questions or concerns by providing relevant and accurate information and directing inquires to appropriate firm resources. Responsible for data entry and administration in Workday and maintain reporting related to all HR activity including new hires, terminations, transfers, and leaves of absences. Assist with year-end compensation processes. Coordinate attorney human resources matters such as completing employment verification requests, managing and updating personnel file records, facilitating office transfers, etc.. Assist Legal HR team with ad hoc projects as needed including, but not limited to: reports, data requests and surveys. Provide general HR support for lawyers and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. Bachelor’s degree is required. Should have 3-4 years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably financial services or legal industry.
