The Position:

We are seeking an Attorney with experience in general liability litigation practice that should have extensive experience with legal and business issues including personal injury, property damage, premises liability, and economic loss. 

The candidate must have/be:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of California and/or Nevada State Bar(s). 

• 5 uninterrupted years of experience at a law firm. 

• 3+ years of experience practicing in the areas of general commercial liability defense. 

•  Significant litigation experience, including discovery disputes, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.

• Familiar with Insurance related procedures, specifically with Property Loss, and General Liability Claims processes.

• Demonstrate effective written and oral communications and have polished negotiation skills.

• Ability to work autonomously or as a team member. 

• Experience with - insurance defense; construction litigation; real estate financing or leasing; and/or drafting and negotiating contracts helpful. 

The candidate will join our litigation team and interact with and various departments of a real estate company. The candidate will provide support to more senior counsel and assist on a broad variety of legal matters by providing clear, concise legal and strategic advice with a practical, business-oriented approach. The candidate will serve all phases of litigation including case management, motion practice, discovery, mediations, arbitrations, and trials 

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with the investigation of accidents and problem areas

• Gathering medical / property related evidence and records

• Conducting discovery

• Performing legal research

• Remaining current with developments in the law

• Represent the interests of the company at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings

• Negotiate settlements on behalf of the company

Skills and Knowledge required:

• Litigation experience and including trial experience

• Working knowledge of State and Federal law,

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong research and analytical skills

• Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

• Excellent negotiation skills

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Strong technology skills, including proficiency with G-Suite, Office, and legal research platforms, such as Lexis and Westlaw

• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus*

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $140,000 - $200,000 annually
