Duties and Responsibilities

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate case handling.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients to provide strategic immigration consultations and develop case strategies.
  • Develop and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to determine potential benefits and strategies for clients' cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, legal writing, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Florida.

  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Effective communication and client interaction skills.
