JOB SUMMARY

**This position is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital**

This position is full time, working 6a-6p with every other weekend and rotating holidays Maintains unit supply levels, transports patients and equipment. Performs designated patient care assignments and/or specialized functions as assigned for patients of all ages in accordance with Policies and Procedures.   Moderate physical effort is required to lift and move patients, equipment and supplies.  Walking and standing majority of time on duty.  Works in presence of anesthesia gases, cleaning chemicals and highly technical electrical equipment.  Continuous exposure to body fluid and infectious diseases.  Required to work combination of night and day shift.  Duties include use of PCs.  Work is performed in patient care environment and is often fast paced requiring use of prioritization skills.  Intermittent periods of sitting, visualizing computer/monitor screen and keyboarding.  Be part of a Joint Commission-accredited organization that has earned distinguished accolades for clinical excellence. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent education required.

EXPERIENCE: None

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Must successfully complete Basic Life Support Course within 6 months of hire.

OTHER: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
