Accounts Payable Specialist

The candidate will assist with training for new employees as needed. Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, coding, and approval prior to processing. Assist with processing urgent check requests as needed. Audit and process firm credit card monthly statements. Review for proper approval and compliance to firm policies. Understand 1099 requirements and maintain vendor profiles and vouchers to ensure accuracy of annual reporting requirements. Respond to all vendor inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practices. Verify compliance of all expenses with firm policies and procedures. Review vendor invoices for compliance with sales and use tax regulations for states where Perkins Coie has a presence. Assist with other projects as needed. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the firm’s attendance expectations. Should have AA degree in accounting or equivalent. Should have 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience or equivalent. BA degree and professional services accounting experience is preferred. Typing skills of 60-65 WPM is required.
