Location:

Duties:

• Advise clients on legal rights, case strategies, and potential outcomes

• Draft legal documents including motions, discovery, and trial pleadings

• Represent clients in court for pretrial hearings and other proceedings

• Conduct legal research and apply case law to build strong defense arguments

• Prepare clients for depositions and court appearances

• Interview witnesses and coordinate expert testimony

• Gather and evaluate evidence to support client defenses or refute prosecution claims

• Manage caseloads under supervision while gaining trial preparation experience

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in criminal defense law through internships, clinics, or volunteer work

• Willingness to take initiative and work collaboratively with legal team members

• Strong commitment to client service and courtroom advocacy

• Familiarity with managing deadlines and juggling multiple cases

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active admission to the California Bar preferred

• Law graduates awaiting bar results may also be considered

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and legal writing skills

• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Proficiency with legal research and drafting tools

• Experience with case management software is a plus

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred, but not required
