The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time opening for an Electrician, an hourly position which reports to the Maintenance Electrical Foreman. The Electrician’s main job duties are to perform job tasks that troubleshoot and maintain the refinery’s electrical and automation systems as well as install, test and commission new electrical installations, instrumentation, and associated equipment. We are looking for someone who will be committed to advancing understanding of our systems by self-motivation and training. In addition, someone who will promote safety and support in increasing the reliability of this facility. This position works Monday – Thursday, 6:30 am to 5 pm. Off hour overtime is required.
*Provide electrical and instrumentation support to maintain equipment and facilities in a manner that is safe *Participate in project planning including Drawing updates, P&ID development and Cause & Effects development *Perform all duties in compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental, applicable government regulations, and industry best practices *Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical, pneumatic, process controls and new equipment as projects dictate *Regularly communicate with management regarding work progress, concerns and questions
*High School Diploma or equivalent *Minnesota State Journeyman Electrical License
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills *Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems *Working knowledge of electrical one-lines, electrical schematics, and electrical prints *Experience safely working with the hazards and using the associated proper PPE on voltages up to 600 volts *Experience safely working with the hazards and using the associated proper PPE on voltages greater than 600 volts to 12.5k V preferred *Journeyman Instrument Technician degree, or an Instrumentation certification from an accredited program preferred *Three or more years direct experience with SCADA/PLC/Pneumatic controlled loops with the ability to troubleshoot an array of problems associated with the equipment preferred *Familiarity with P & ID's, Loop Drawings, Controllers, Digital signals, preferred *Broad understanding of refinery operations preferred *Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems; Honeywell preferred *Familiarity with Equipment Monitoring; Vibration monitors, Anti-surge controls preferred *Familiarity with Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers/HMI's, Redlion HMI's, preferred *Familiarity with Ethernet IP, ModBus, RS-485 communications protocols preferred
*A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
