The candidate will prosecute all juvenile cases as assigned by the Chief Juvenile Assistant State’s Attorney. Review police and lab reports to ascertain any need for follow-up investigation. Interview civilian and police witnesses and advises each as to court appearances. Examine physical evidence that may have been secured by the police. Should have J.D. degree and have an unrestricted license to practice law in the State of Illinois. Must have 1 year of experience in the prosecution of criminal law. Must have the ability to analyze information and make swift legal decisions as required by juvenile law. Must have the ability to keep abreast of changing legislation regarding juveniles, especially as it pertains to criminal charges.
