Private Equity Business Developer
The candidate serves as the strategic business development lead and the key ambassador for the Private Equity (PE) practice. Responsible for attendance and networking at all events for the PE practice. Introduces new relationships to the appropriate PE partner and continues to foster the relationships after the conference finishes. Accountable for targeting in advance of each event and evaluating the ROI for each sponsorship. Continues to explore new conferences that the BDE or PE attorneys should attend and/or sponsor. Gathers market intelligence through in-person and digital networking and ongoing news and trends monitoring. Documents and reports on intelligence and relationship development progress using firm contact relationship software and reporting tools. Develops and implements strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective PE clients; includes ideation, consensus building, and execution. Develops and maintains collaborative internal relationships and communicates effectively with PE attorneys and other BD/Marketing and Client Care team members in order to build new client relationships and support the growth of the PE practice. Contributes to continuous improvement of the PE practice through involvement in collateral and thought leadership development. Focuses on proactive cross-selling of existing and new PE clients; works with data analytics team to analyze data for cross-selling opportunities; proactively identifies opportunities and facilitates internal and client discussions focused on introducing new services to existing client relationships. Collaborates with other BD team members to continue executing and refining PE strategy plan. Provide advice to the leadership PE team in an effort to achieve brand awareness, market revenue and new business development benchmark goals. Work in conjunction with Senior Business Development Manager as well as BD team members to continue executing and refining PE strategy plan. College degree is required, plus any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Should have 7+ years of business development experience, preferably within a law firm or within the PE industry and demonstrated understanding of PE trends.
