A growing immigration and taxation law office is looking for a highly motivated and skilled paralegal/legal assistant. Must have solid writing and intercultural communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office products is required, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Bachelor's degree is required.
The paralegal / legal assistant will learn the highly complex U.S. immigration and taxation laws. Therefore, a candidate must demonstrate attention to detail and critical thinking skills in preparing immigration and tax forms. Duties include assembling and organizing petitions/applications, filing paperwork, mailing, scanning, time entry and billing, scheduling appointments, assistance with social media/website posts, and answering client phone calls.
The paralegal / legal assistant will eventually learn to draft petitions, applications, specialized support letters, and responses to government inquiries. The candidate will also learn to use existing case law to support such documentation.
