This position will be responsible for strategically positioning a fixed income investment portfolio that supports product line liabilities and will serve as a subject matter expert on corporate credit investments in the General Account.ResponsibilitiesDirects\/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibilityProvides strategic direction to build and enhance the capability for his\/her assigned area(s) of responsibilityDirects and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and\/or departmental\/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibilityIdentifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and\/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibilityProvides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal\/external stakeholders on complex assignments\/projects for his\/her assigned area(s) of responsibilityMaintains knowledge on current and emerging developments\/trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategiesDevelops and executes strategies of fixed income portfolio management, including the analysis of portfolio composition, risk, portfolio objectives, and competitionServes as subject matter expert to appropriate key stakeholders supporting lines of business and internal risk teams to ensure optimization of investment portfoliosStrategically aligns investment options within product lines and across distribution channelsCollaborates with key internal stakeholders on new investment ideas, concepts and opportunitiesDevelops credit risk management strategies for investment grade and below investment grade corporate credit balancing income and capital preservationDevelops and directs the overall credit risk process, including overall governance perimeters that are well understood throughout the investment departmentPresents investment and credit risk strategies to senior management and business leadersCollaborates routinely with external asset managers to analyze hold, sell, or hedging decisions on corporate creditServes as the primary investment team contact for his\/her assigned area(s) of responsibility including investment review meetings and client service inquiriesMaintains knowledge of current and emerging developments in the corporate bond marketEducationUndergraduate Degree or 4 years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in information systems, accounting or finance field is preferredMBA\/CFA preferredExperience10 years of progressively more responsible experience in in Credit Analysis and Portfolio Management with a focus on buy-side fixed income investments and corporate credit. Deep and thorough working knowledge of corporate bond markets.Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlinesDemonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement processes improvements.Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commandingDemonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.Sound understanding of principles of portfolio theory, management, asset allocation, econometrics, and general economics.Experience and knowledge with the following asset classes: domestic and international equities, domestic and global fixed income, money market and financial derivative.Ability to grasp quantitative concepts of risk and exposure, and their application to portfolio management.Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and\/or exceeding performance expectationsPossesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractionsDrives performance targets to completion #LI-AE1This position may be subject to Lincolns Political Contribution Policy.
