Job Summary and Scope
Coordinates and assists daily operations to include inventory management, equipment management and control, adheres to policies and procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Essential Functions:
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
Maintain and monitor inventory, which includes: requisition processing, receiving of goods, tracking/expediting of orders and maintains a cost effective PAR level.
Assist with the research and implementation of opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce cost.
Meet with vendors to discuss new product purchases and trials and ensures compliance with contracts.
Coordinates repair of equipment with Instrument Technicians and Biomedical or outside sources when needed.
Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
Cooperate and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Number stock outs in clean utilities
Number of lines/items stocked in clean utilities compared to adjusted patient volume,
Average Supply Cost per day for adjusted patient volume.

Communication Skills
Requires the ability to communicate with all organizational levels in an effective manner.
Required Qualifications
Computer Literacy, to include MS Office (Word and Excel); Materials Management Information Systems (Lawson preferred); Financial computer system experience; Ability to analyze and interpret data, effective communication, customer service, and critical thinking.
Position requires the ability to stand, stoop, kneel and walk for extended periods of time.
Position requires the ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25 pounds, 50 -75 pounds occasionally.
Position requires the ability to use a hand held scanner to perform job function.
Position requires the ability to use a manual pallet jack to receive products.
Education/Experience
Education:
High School or GED equivalency
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of related experience of which one (1) year must have been in Materials Management
Preferred Educational/Experience Requirements:
2 years of college, 2 years of hospital supply chain management, CMRP certification
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks and a post offer drug screen.
Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
Tuberculin Skin Test required annually
Hospital required vaccinations
Hospital required competencies
Working Conditions
Typical office and/or patient care, acute care hospital environment.
Must be able to travel locally between facilities and within the surrounding community.
Occasional exposure to minimal physical risk
Position requires the ability to work in potentially uncomfortable areas that will expose employee to unusual sights and unusual odors associated with acute care hospital patient care areas and patient treatment areas, including the operating room.
Position requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment and the ability to work under stressful conditions and work with demanding customers.
