Workers Compensation Paralegal

Profile

Small, busy, high-volume Lake Norman law firm seeking paralegal with experience in personal injury litigation and worker’s compensation. The candidate must have excellent writing skills and a strong working knowledge of the forms, procedures, and practices of North Carolina courts and the NCIC. Similar knowledge of South Carolina courts and the Industrial Commission a plus. The candidate must understand the processes, forms and filings of the NCIC, and experience preparing initial drafts of complaints, discovery requests, and simple motions for civil litigation is a plus. The candidate must also be comfortable communicating with clients and opposing counsel and able to juggle multiple cases while paying special attention to deadlines and time-sensitive documents in different counties throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. Finally, the candidate must have experience scheduling hearings, preparing trial notebooks, and assisting the attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, and mediations.
