A law firm seeks an experienced Intellectual Property Associate with expertise in patent preparation and prosecution to join its team in Saint Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have a background in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, or Biomedical Engineering, and will assist with patent applications, patentability opinions, and patent estate management for a diverse clientele.

Duties

• Handle high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters from inception to conclusion.
• Communicate effectively with attorneys and clients, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
• Work independently and productively with a focus on advancing a career in Intellectual Property law.
• Produce quality legal work and meet billing requirements to ensure excellent client services.
• Manage and generate business through group and individual efforts.
• Comply with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.

Requirements

• 3+ years' experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm.
• Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the firm conducts business.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.

Education

• Juris Doctor
• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, or Biomedical Engineering preferred.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in good standing.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
