HR Legal Compliance Specialist
The candidate provides HR compliance and consultation services related to employment litigation, equal employment opportunity requirements, federal and state employment laws and regulations, HR policies and procedures, and/or other compliance matters. Under the guidance of leadership, serve as the organization's representative and manage all phases of assigned employment litigation matters, including but not limited to, discovery, documentation preparation, witness interviews, depositions, mediation, and arbitration/trial. This includes working with outside counsel, vendors and other resources on strategy and preparation of litigation cases. Provide consultative services and promote compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations and serve as a resource to other departments and Cedars-Sinai management regarding employment law, HR policies and/or other compliance and regulatory matters. Coordinate and work collaboratively with Human Resources, appropriate departments and related stakeholders. Conduct witness interviews, compile and review relevant documentation, respond to litigation notices and provide appropriate recommendations and guidance to management. Collaborate with outside counsel and leadership on more intricate investigations, witness interviews and litigation cases. Support the reduction of the organizations exposure to legal risk by contributing to training programs or educational materials for Human Resources and organizational leadership. Participate in special projects related to either departmental and/or organization needs as appropriate. Should have High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Policy, or other related field preferred. Doctorate Degree in Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree of Law preferred. Should have 2 years in Compliance, Human Resources, Litigation and/or other Legal Experience required. Should have 5 years in Compliance, Human Resources, Litigation and/or other Legal Experience preferred.
