Summary: The Customer Development Manager (CDM) position is responsible for facilitating and driving sales growth at Publix. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct selling; communication and execution of BU strategy, sales planning, forecasting, inventory management, Innovation execution, category insights integration, development of sales materials, customer engagement, results tracking and training, onboarding and personal growth development. The successful candidate must deliver strong growth results through cross functional team members and customer engagement while demonstrating the companies 5 C's (commitment, creativity, candor, collaboration and caring) across the organization. This position will work closely with the Retail Execution team to ensure key objectives are achieved. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver sales goal within approved spending guidelines; Effectively own and lead the strategic customer planning process that delivers team and company objectives, while properly managing trade limits; Monitor business trends and formulate proactive solutions to effectively grow the business; Conduct Monthly Business Reviews with Publix key personnel, with focus on sales results, new item performance, and growth opportunities; Effectively forecast Publix business through analysis of Publix Vendor Portal tools; Collaborate both internally and externally with the ability to work in team environment across multiple levels and personalities to properly engage others; Prepare pertinent material for effective presentations to customer. This will include innovation, category and business reviews and deliverables on company initiatives related to brand strategy. Must demonstrate solid presentation skills aimed to influence and negotiate for win-win outcomes; regularly review company and team reports to maintain constant pulse on the business. Additionally, frequent analysis and consumer data to understand product performance and category trends. Create action plans and deliver customer solutions for developing business issues; Build relationships with key decision makers; Implement corporate driven initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required Experience: 5 years of experience in sales and/or sales strategy and planning; CPG experience and Publix experience preferred. Experience analyzing syndicated data preferred (IRI, Nielsen) Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Special Skills: Strong organization skills, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work independently; Ability to translate corporate direction into sales successes with direct sales leadership. Strong computer and internet skills including but not limited to; word, excel, power point, etc. Travel: Travel for this position will be minimal
