The Role

As a part-time Customer Care Associate, you will be responsible for providing telephone customer service as a primary point of contact for Lincoln Financial producers, policyholders, and authorized third parties, while meeting quality and productivity expectations. You will handle or refer inquires in a professional and efficient, ensuring accuracy and effective follow-through.

This part-time position operates Monday and Tuesday from 11:00am – 5:00pm; and Wednesday thru Friday from 11:00am – 2:00pm.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

Answers inbound customer service calls and handles customer inquiries related to basic life insurance policies

Analyzes customer information retrieved from multiple computer systems

Identifies and authenticates callers using established procedures

Enters information into the multiple computer systems based on the customer's inquiry

Refers customer inquiries to other departments via phone or on-line as appropriate to the situation

Provides detailed information related to life insurance policies, coverage, beneficiaries, account balances

Communication and Teamwork

Consults with Senior Customer Care Professional and/or Associate Manager to resolve complex customer inquiries

Excellent telephone speaking voice

Excellent use of English language

Ability to communicate in writing in a clear and professional manner with internal colleagues

Compliance Duties and Quality Standards

Demonstrate dependability, flexibility and sound judgment by adhering to schedules and meeting all productivity, quality and performance standards as well as taking ownership for your actions

Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines

Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining targeted productivity levels, handling times, and accuracy and net promoter scores

Comply with all company site policies and procedures

Education

High School diploma/GED or minimum Associate’s Degree in lieu of required experience

Experience

0-1 year of general experience – need not be directly related to the position

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrates aptitude for learning new systems and processes

Customer service and/or financial services experience preferred

Basic skills in MS Word and Outlook as well as using multiple software applications preferred

A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations

Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions

Drives performance targets to completion
