Associate Attorney

The candidate will be managing assigned real estate caseload consisting of but not limited to; real estate broker insurance defense litigation, real estate transaction litigation, foreclosure defense, mortgage/lien pre-litigation and litigation matters; and Easement/Land-Use matters. Drafting pleadings for litigation matters. Developing and implementing discovery plans, propounding discovery, and responding to discovery. Taking and defending depositions of parties, percipient witnesses, and experts. Bringing, opposing, and arguing dispositive motions for assigned caseload. Handling Mediations and Mandatory Settlement Conferences for assigned caseload. Occasional communications with clients on assigned matters providing updates on their respective cases. Responsible for managing and following up on all tasks assigned on assigned Caseload for the Associate as well as the assigned Paralegal/Legal Assistant. Ability to follow Firm's standard operating procedures and utilizing Firm's established technology and software tools, including but not limited to, Clio Practice Management, GSuite, Zoom, DialPad. Strong Billing Practices and ability to bill time on assigned cases and track and bill for time and meet targets set by the Firm’s Partners. Law & Motion, Deposition, and Mediation experience is required. Trial experience in state or federal bench/jury trials, administrative hearings, or binding arbitrations is a plus. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should have experience with residential real estate transaction litigation/failure to disclose, or Real Estate Broker Insurance defense litigation is a plus and such candidates will get strong consideration. Business and/or transactional experience is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel - experience working with Clio or related law practice management software would be an advantage. Experience with commercial/residential real estate transactions is not essential but would be an advantage. Should have 3-5 years of relevant civil litigation experience.
