Grassroots and Coalitions Manager

The candidate will work directly with policymakers and third party groups at the national, state and local levels to help advance transportation policy, educate on the safety benefits of the technology, and advance consumer awareness and acceptance. Will establish the creation of a new Policy team function, focused on educating and activating policy and third party stakeholders. In collaboration with and support of our jurisdictional policy leads at the local, state, federal and international level, develop and execute a strategy to engage, sponsor, and activate targeted third-parties to publicly support the firm, and the AV industry, and/or pro-AV policies. Drive the policy messaging strategy and deployment, including the creation of affirmative narratives for policy audiences and the strategic deployment of those messages. Bachelor’s degree in law or public policy or equivalent practical experience; graduate or law degree is preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience working in public affairs, political communications, political campaigns, and/or within government. Experience creating and managing effective external policy engagement programs with measurable outcomes is required. Experience working across large organizations with multiple stakeholders to develop and execute strategies is required. Experience working on political campaigns, community organizing, grassroots activation, digital advocacy, or similar is required. Policy experience working on issues relating to transportation and/or advanced technologies, especially first-hand experience working with a private sector company is required. Direct experience working with or in government is required. Bilingual skills are preferred.
