Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Welders & Fabricators are responsible for fabricating/erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals; stainless steel, galvanized, and black iron ranging from angle and flat stock. Must be capable of performing the three major types of welding, TIG welding, ARC welding and MIG welding. Must be able to safety operate hand power tools, shop equipment to include metal shear, metal brake, drill press, metal lathe, and plasma cutting sanders, able to weld in multiple positions, flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead. Must be capable of reading blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications, using calipers, micrometers, etc., as needed. Set up and operate welding/fabricating equipment to perform jobs blueprints, sketches or verbal orders. Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications. Perform machining with lathe, broaching tools, drilling/tapping and other machining functions. Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly manner including shop tools, welding and cutting gauges and welding equipment. Follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Must be able to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. This position works in a cold, damp, hot and humid environment with slippery surfaces. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing pulling and reaching are required to include work on ladders. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.

Requirements

Maintenance positions require one year of experience in industrial maintenance/fabrication. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends. Your application is only active for this requisition (job). To be considered for other positions, you will need to apply to each open requisition.
