**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Director of Finance to be responsible for the overall financial management of the Firm. This includes responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, payroll and benefits, and institutional financing. The candidate must possess strong analytical, organizational, communication, and supervisory skills. The position is in the Firm's Cleveland office.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Direct and supervise the accounting department, and provide leadership and training to the accounting staff
  • Provide financial analysis support to the Managing Partner and Executive Committee on a regular and ad-hoc basis that includes cost/benefit analysis and opportunity/profit analysis
  • Administration of the Firm’s profit-sharing and 401(k) plans, and all employee benefit plans, including year-end testing
  • Overall responsibility for accounts payable and receivable functions, collections, reconciliation of daily cash receipts, monitor reporting of time and cost entries
  • Manage effective cash management process
  • Manage processes including developing and maintaining monthly operating budget and annual Firm operating budget
  • Oversee the month-end close process, continual review of procedures while eliminating inefficiencies
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, interpreting results, and provide recommendations
  • Assess and prepare profitability analyses by segments and attorneys
  • Interface with attorneys regarding collections, and work to minimize write-offs, write-downs
  • Analysis of potential new satellite offices and projects, including preparing pro forma projections for lateral partners and groups
  • Review and ensure application of  appropriate internal financial and operational controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of Firm short- and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external accounting firm and assist with the preparation and filing of all tax returns and compiled financial statements
  • Oversee Firm's malpractice, general liability, health, and life insurance
  • Responsible to ensure proper policies and procedures for client intake and trust account compliance
  • Support and manage outside lending relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and prior professional services firm experience (CPA license a plus). Candidates should have at least 10 years of accounting operations management experience, hands-on experience with financial, accounting and associated reporting systems; Juris experience preferred. Candidates should also possess excellent interpersonal communication and collaborative skills in a team environment.
