2018 Summer Associate Program – Application Developer Our undergraduate student Summer Associate Programs are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. Many of our Summer Associates are offered jobs with Aetna after graduation.You'll work side by side with people who value your enthusiasm and creativity. The Summer Associate Programs typically last 10 to 12 weeks, 40 hours a week, from June to August. You’ll be assigned to a business area and work on tasks you would experience if you worked here full time. Summer Associates also participate in:A cross-functional project that provides solutions to a real business issue Aetna is facing, and the chance to present their recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the internshipCommunity service initiativesMentoring programNetworking eventsThe opportunity to learn about our businesses and get exposure to senior leadersProgram Dates: June 4th, 2018 – August 10th, 2018Locations: Denver, COWhat is Aetna digital?To build a healthier world, we need to do better. So Aetna Digital is developing a smart, connected and enjoyable digital health care experience. With cutting-edge software products, we can engage consumers in actively achieving their best health. And create real change in health care. What will you do?· You will design, develop, and deploys software that provides desired functionality to online sites, products, and services. · Help to translate business requirements into sound, creative software designs that effectively weigh business and technical tradeoffs. · Works with a cross-functional team, uses agile practices, writes, debugs, and delivers code to more senior staff for review. · Ensures on-time delivery of owned features from design and implementation through to production troubleshooting. · Looks for and presents to senior staff, recommended fixes for problems in code.What do you bring?Good written and verbal communication skills; Able to document and present information to various audiences and work in a team environmentAbility to navigate problems and roadblocks as they occurAble to produce code based on defined requirements and implement feedback provided on your work Broad understanding of core programming and computer science concepts You’re eligible to apply if you:Are currently enrolled in college pursuing a relevant undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date after August 2018Have a current cumulative GPA and major GPA of 3.0 This is your opportunity to be a part of a major investment initiative for the company shaping how people engage with the company.
