Senior Data Scientist - Data Transformation

Description

As part of Humana's Trend Analytics and Forecasting organization, our team is focused on increasing the department's overall ability to deliver key analytic insights to the enterprise. We aim to accomplish this through increased engagement, optimized processes and evaluating/adopting emerging technology solutions. This role will be focused on shaping and executing the department's strategy around capitalizing on new technologies.

Responsibilities

Assess the value of transitioning processes to new and developing platforms

Partner with associates within the department to transition existing processes from SAS/SQL to new platforms (potentially Databricks/Python)

Provide technical assistance to department associates as they learn new coding languages, as needed

Conduct technical peer reviews of analytic and reporting processes

Assist in data engineering tasks as needed to transition needed data to new environments (Azure Data Lake, Humana's Machine Learning Platform)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of data/business analytics experience OR Master's Degree and 3 or more years of data/business analytics experience

Demonstrated experience coding in SAS, SQL and/or Python

Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions

Experience in working with assignments that involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting

Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics

Ability to make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

PhD

Experience in Azure, Databricks or Python
