Role Summary/Purpose :
The Sr Director of Lean is a new position for the Grid software business. This leader will be responsible for lean cultural transformation in Grid services that results in creation of a continuous improvement culture focused on decreasing time to value with customer base.
Essential Responsibilities :
A Lean Business System will be an integral part of the way we run our business for the long-term. The Business System Office will focus on creating, supporting, and assisting the improvement efforts tied to the company’s most critical business processes; primarily in the innovation, commercial, and operations functions. Through analyzing processes, diagnosing operational challenges, and implementing process changes, the Business System Office will drive continuous improvement and breakthrough performance ultimately shaping company culture and brand.
The goal is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods. As the architect of GE Digital’s Business System, this leader will build an action plan to identify opportunities and implement tools and processes such as; the lean resource staffing model, the project funnel prioritization process, etc. which will ultimately define the lean culture and activities. This will require significant change management to effectively embed throughout the growing organization.
The individual in this role will be expected to:
Design GE Digital’s Lean Business System and organization through partnership and influence of the Executive Leadership Team
Implement the Business System including; daily management metrics, review and problem-solving cadence and agenda at, process to address KPI and CVD (core value drivers); implementing lean tools and training programs to enable PSR/action planning
Establish a lean competency program which; ensures the application of globally recognized standards for lean principles and practices, serves as a benchmark for GE Digital’s achievements, provides a common roadmap for continuous improvement and workforce development
Develop capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream)
Manage Currentstate v Ideal state VSM transformation plan in concert with functional leaders.
Deployment of this Lean Business System must result in improved EBITDA and Free Cash Flow
Committed to peer leadership and partnership
Capture the essence of the lean culture
Qualifications/Requirements :
Basic Qualifications
BS or BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum 10 years in a General Management or lean/operational leadership role
Minimum of 10 years mastering a variety Lean and Growth-related tools such as: Strategy Deployment, Structured Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard Work, and VSM/Process Mapping, Lean Conversion, Level Loading and Pull Systems, SMED, Training and Facilitation techniques.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US. GE does not agree to sponsor individuals' employment visas, now or in the future, for this role.
Ability to travel 50% as needed for in person training and kaizen workshops.
Desired Characteristics :
Ideally built and/or designed business system for global organization
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general manager’s perspective
Familiarity with lean NPD methodologies
Excellent time and project management
Successfully managed multi-million dollar budget
Technical Expertise - Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes
Proven ability to bring order and structure to function and organization quickly
Demonstrated successful leadership and proficiency in building and implementing lean business system/practices for global manufacturing organization (in a variety of situations)
Strategic mindset with hands-on approach
Strong commercial focus on customer and end user experience
