TheAccess Response Center (ARC)is a state of the art Behavioral Health clinical assessment and patient placement functionthat is located at the MountainStar Contact Center.The ARC clinical team is composed of Therapists, Social Workers, Counselors and Nurses who provide mental health assessments for patients of all ages located throughout the hospitals of theMountainStar *Division *who may benefit from inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. The wide variety of patient types that our clinical team assesses creates a dynamic and compelling experience for its professional staff. Further, the unique application of telehealth as the means through which assessments are conducted offer our team an experience with one of the most exciting advancements to contemporary clinical care. The ARC serves as a way to clinically assess and subsequently place patients into appropriate levels of care across multiple facilities using the innovation of telehealth. Placement Patient Coordinator

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES –Responds to phone calls, fax, and e-mail requests for information, admission needs, and transfer requests. Coordinates patient placement with facilities that provide inpatient behavioral health patient services. This role supports the clinical assessment team by assuring rapid response to requests for services.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Responds to phone calls quickly demonstrating good customer service skills

Gathers initial information which is communicated to the clinicians for assessment and next steps

Helps to locate available resources, including but not limited to inpatient behavioral health beds, and coordinates information to support patient disposition

Coordinates and participates with appropriate interested parties and physicians through the patient response inquiry, admission, treatment and discharge process

Tracks and reports on all key indicators related to calls, assessment, admissions

Gathers information and develops reports outlining activities as directed including volume, response time, and outcomes

Ensures patient rights and confidentiality are maintained

Provides input, suggestions and support appropriately

Participates as an active member of the multidisciplinary team

Completes additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Possess knowledge of local community behavioral health resources

Possess good communication skills verbal and written

Possess good organization skills and able to act on multiple tasks

Demonstrates ability to prioritize

Ability to follow established policy and procedures when performing job functions

Ability to demonstrate good judgment

Interacts and communicates with others in a way that promotes a positive and cooperative work environment

Ability to channel concerns appropriately

EDUCATION:

Must meet basic reading, writing, and comprehension requirements, generally obtained through the completion of high school or GED.

Higher education at some level in a behavioral health or emergency medical field is highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Prefer 1-3 years’ experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments or in a clinical treatment setting for non-nurses.

RNs require a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an inpatient setting and prefer a demonstrated ability to complete crisis assessments.
