Summary

City Market Co-Op is seeking a Store Assistant to actively support all departments to guarantee the smooth operations of the store. This includes bagging groceries, stocking/receiving products, custodial support, and running errands as needed. The ideal candidate has strong communication and customer service skills, ideally with prior experience in customer service or retail and/or a drive to learn!

Day-to-Day Duties

Keeping the store and equipment in working order, including cleaning, organizing and stocking shelves, rotating stock, and labeling items.

Assisting customers with product questions and locating products in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner and referring them to other staff as necessary.

Bagging groceries and collecting carts and baskets as needed to keep the Front End traffic to a minimum.

Monitoring parking lot and maintaining traffic control as needed.

Assisting in food production and grocery delivery as needed.

Running errands as needed and assisting other departments as needed.

Compliance with established City Market procedures and practices regarding operations, sales, safety, and security.

May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

One year of retail experience OR 18 months of customer service experience required.

High School diploma or GED and valid driver's license required.

Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry helpful.
