The Role

This role will be posted until 5:00 EST on Friday, July 20

This role is to be based in Minneapolis.

In this role you will focus on financial performance and service delivery of retirement services within the Minnesota market. You will collaborate with the Maolerket Leader, other Office LOB and Practice Leaders and the Midwest Region Retirement Leader to effectively execute the Retirement business plan. You will lead and develop a team of over 100 colleagues, providing broad-based Retirement solutions. You’ll also be asked to contribute your thought leadership to the overall development of the Retirement practice. Your contribution will impact not only market revenue, but also the regional P&L, Willis Towers Watson’s global firm brand and market share.

Performance Objectives


o Operations management and Growth responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of plans and budgets. Deliver planned performance including LOB utilization, Lead Consultant Revenue growth, controllable contribution, ASC/NPC transitions and market share growth in accordance with the office/regional/national LOB plans.


o Member of Retirement Region Leadership Team:

Manage, support and execute major Retirement projects and business development initiatives to retain current clients, expand existing relationships and increase market share. Act as a change agent. Participate on Retirement cross functional teams and promote collaboration and teamwork within the office team, market and region.

o Member of local market leadership team:

Work with the Market Leader and Region Retirement Leader to ensure cross-LOB collaboration and identify business development opportunities and develop strategic business plans for the LOB that support the strategic direction of the business and the local market. Help initiate and drive new business development opportunities with clients and prospective organizations.

o People management and development:

Actively integrate and build team resources into an effective client service delivery team. Develop and execute on strategic staffing plans, including all people processes e.g., attracting and maintaining engagement and retention of key talent, providing appropriate training and career growth opportunities for all associates, performance management and salary and bonus planning.


o Client relationship management and delivery:

Responsible for all aspects of local delivery of Willis Towers Watson products and services for the LOB. Collaborate with Client Relationship Directors and Retirement Sales and Marketing and IC Leaders to develop local market client strategies to deepen, broaden and build profitable relationships, including the management and deployment of staff to effectively deliver client work.


o Work Quality/Manage risk:

Working with the Policies and Procedures Leader, focus on Professional Excellence work quality processes, measures and continuous improvement. Help develop standardized work processes within the LOB, which will improve quality and profitability.

o Subject matter expertise, thought leadership:

Contribute to the development of priority services and consulting processes and demonstrate deep consulting capability in one or more competency areas.

The Requirements

o Significant experience and success in leading a Retirement consulting group

o Facilitate interactions among Retirement groups located within the Missouri market to enhance career development, work quality and operational effectiveness.

o Proven ability to generate revenue and manage a profitable P&L

o Track record of success in managing large client relationships

o Proven success in the design/management of Retirement programs to Fortune 1,000 or organizations of similar size gained in a consulting environment

o An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills

o Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization

o Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in Retirement approaches and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches

o Flexibility with regard to travel that can range from 10-40%

o An undergraduate degree is required
