A prestigious law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Intellectual Property Patent Agent to support its dynamic Intellectual Property (IP) practice. The role involves handling patent prosecution, conducting IP due diligence, and providing strategic guidance on patent-related matters. Duties:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications across a range of technologies.
• Conduct patent landscape analysis and freedom-to-operate assessments.
• Perform IP due diligence to support mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
• Collaborate with attorneys and technical specialists to develop IP strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patent laws and industry developments.
• Communicate with clients, inventors, and patent examiners regarding applications.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Strong academic credentials in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
• U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration or eligibility to register.

Education:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional background in Computer Science or Software Development is highly desirable.

Certifications:

• Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or ability to become registered.

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge in engineering and software applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
