REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY

SunEast Development LLC is a leading developer of utility-scale PV solar projects in the eastern U.S. We are focused on mid-sized solar power facilities, 20 MW and greater, and develop projects on behalf of our investment partners.We are looking for a highly motivated individual for a full-time Real Estate Attorney position based out of our West Chester, PA office. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in real estate property transactions, title review and contract evaluation. As the Real Estate Attorney, you will join a motivated, fast-paced team with a passion for renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and critical review of real estate option/purchase and sale agreements, right-of-way agreements, easements, interconnection agreements, permits, third-party engagement letters, and other agreements related to the Company’s solar projects
• Review title documents, site plans and ALTA surveys for encumbrances and determine if curative action is required
• Provide legal support and direction to development team, engineers, and project staff
• Ensure appropriate documents and approvals are in place prior to executing real estate transactions
• Liaise with our investment partners on real estate transactions

Job Qualifications and Key Skills:

• Minimum 5+ years legal real estate experience; solar or renewable energy sector experience a plus
• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Licensure to practice law in at least one state
• Experience drafting commercial agreements and contracts

• Experience with land lease/purchase and title work
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented perspective
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Decisive, organized, methodical, and biased toward action
• Demonstrated flexibility and organizational skills to manage numerous and competing responsibilities of varying urgency
• Excellent aptitude with business software tools such as Microsoft Office, Dropbox, etc.
