Duties: Work with staff to ensure tax returns are completed correctly and by the required deadline. Review annual information returns for exempt organization clients including Form 990, Form 990-T and Form 990-PF (and related state returns). Manage numerous client expectations to ensure tax returns are completed correctly and by the required deadline. Gather relevant tax-related information from the client to prepare accurate tax returns. Participate in audit planning meetings, client interviews and client board meetings. Work collaboratively with audit teams to complete Uncertain Tax Position memos and review applicable financial statement tax footnotes. Listen to client needs and recognize additional services that could provide value. Assist with analysis of alternative investments for foreign and state reporting issues and assist with state and foreign returns. Coach or mentor staff members to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career. Proactively recognize problems and risks and identify alternate solutions to client situations. Look at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied and risk is minimized. Perform special tax projects and research for clients. Communicate with clients, audit teams and other tax professionals. Develop and manage client relationships. Network, build relationships and attract new clients or business for the Firm. Bill clients for the services and guidance provided.
