Duties: Reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents. Initiating telecommunications. Organizing client conferences and attorney meetings. Scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses and other special functions. Coordinating the preparation of charts, graphs, and other courtroom visuals. Preparing expense report. Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions and travel; Recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings and filing requirements; Monitoring evidence-gathering; and Anticipates changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements. Communicating and obtaining information. Following up on delegated assignments. Knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney. Documenting and inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses. This function also requires invoice preparation and payment tracking responsibilities. Ensuring the confidentiality of all client/attorney information. Providing historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems in accordance with firm policy and procedure. Inclusive in this responsibility is the requirement to record meeting discussions, maintain transcripts and document/maintain evidence. Maintaining and enhancingknowledge/skill sets by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
