Assistant District Attorney

The candidate will manage all aspects of the felony Motion to Revoke (MTR) docket to include reviewing violation reports submitted by the Community Supervision and Corrections Department, drafting MTRs, attending the MTR docket call in District Court, representing the State in contested MTR hearings, and negotiating plea agreements with defense counsel. Will also assist in screening and conducting intake on assigned indicted felony cases, and will manage an assigned felony caseload from intake through final resolution, including appeal. Caseload management will include, in part, evaluating cases, preparing for and attending pre-trial and trial proceedings, negotiating plea agreements, interviewing witnesses and victims in preparation for trial, and drafting appellate briefs. Must be licensed to practice law in Texas, preferably with experience as a prosecutor.
