Director of Client Development

The candidate will lead the firm’s global practice and regional marketing teams and a team of dedicated client service professionals. Develop strategies and programs that will elevate the visibility and strengths of the firm brand in each of the key markets. Identify market trends and drive key targeting initiatives consistent with overall firm strategy. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities with existing clients. Expand the firm's cross-selling opportunities between practice groups and among the various offices. Assist with various client retention initiatives that add value to the firm’s and the client’s businesses, to include executive resumes / hiring referrals, company award nominations, and promote clients on social media, connections to investment capital. Work with the firm’s market and business data and intelligence teams, the director will leverage data to analyze and identify new opportunities, and to strengthen the competitive position. Collaborate with the firm’s business development team and other marketing colleagues and firm business professionals to develop specific penetration plans for key client accounts that may include Client service Interviews, CEO/department chair visits, Account management meetings, Value pricing schemes, Substantive and social events, In-house training for legal and business teams, Diversity programs and Charitable contributions and pro bono/community activities. Coordinate and participate in sales and business development training sessions. Other duties, as assigned or required. Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, marketing, or related field is required. Should have 10+ direct years in sales or marketing-related field and at a management level. Research and data analytics experience is required. Business plan development and execution experience is required. Client retention and account management experience is required. Marketing document creation experience, to include a keen eye for graphic design is required. Should preferably have 3+ years of business development or sales experience. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a working knowledge of professional services industries is preferred. Project management experience and direct experience in creating and monitoring sales and business plans, goal tracking and sales pipeline management is a pus.
