University Attorney
The candidate will provide legal support and guidance to university senior leadership, staff, and faculty in a challenging, stimulating academic environment. Should have the ability and willingness to handle a wide variety of legal matters, both independently and as part of a team, and effectively participate in fact-finding investigations, present findings, develop related recommendations, and work with diverse constituencies. Must have the ability to accurately prioritize and respond to issues and requests, think creatively and offer informed opinions, and identify solutions that combine legal considerations with institutional needs. Should have 5+ years of post-J.D. legal experience, with experience in employment law or legal issues affecting universities preferred. Should have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, deep knowledge in a wide range of legal areas, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resolve multiple, concurrent matters. Must have J.D. from an accredited law school. Should have 3+ years of substantial employment experience in a high-quality legal practice. Must have Licensure to practice law in the state of Georgia or eligibility for admission to the Georgia Bar within six months of hiring.
